The Dream of Tomorrow
by Bela Fischer

The pages of the Bible speak to us today through the lively and colorful imagination of Rabbi Bela Fischer. Genesis 49 offers only the most basic details of Jacob's blessing of his sons--but what was said "between the lines"? Combining the techniques of preacher, teacher and storyteller, Rabbi Fischer recreates a rich and exciting dialog reflecting the depths of Jewish thought and values.
Come, enter the lives of the earliest heroes of the Jewish people as they grapple with their sense of purpose, their search for meaning and their aspirations for the future. Wonderful reading for high school youth and adults, THE DREAM OF TOMORROW says as much for our own contemporary concerns as it does about the glorious Jewish past!

Rabbi Bela Fischer is a native of Hungary. He was ordained at the Jewish Theological Seminary there and earned his Ph.D. in Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations at Peter Pazmany Scientific University of Budapest. Rabbi Fischer has lectured on religion at New Hampshire's Rivier College (the first rabbi to teach at this Catholic school) and he has served as spiritual leader of Temple Beth Abraham, Nashua New Hampshire for the past thirty-one years. Rabbi Fischer was awarded the degree of Doctor of Divinity, Honoris Causa, from the Jewish Theological Seminary of America and he is the author of
The Human Exile, Asylum Laws Before the Christian Era and essays and articles on biblical studies.
